It’s Stupid and Official. Diesel is in India.

Friday, April 16th, 2010

The iconic Italian lifestyle brand is now in town. After months of buzz, rumours, and ‘Stupid’ messages plastered across everywhere, DIESEL is here for real with big openings in major Indian cities.

Known as a premium casual brand, Diesel is definitely not new to the truly cool and truly fashion forward. Launching with the global campaign that celebrates its brave and creative spirit, the brand with the Be Stupid ads also encourages people to take risks and move beyond the smart and safe track for life.

Partnered with Reliance Brands Ltd – a part of the Reliance Industries group, Diesel is launching 2 stores in Mumbai this month. And one each in Bangalore, Delhi and Hyderabad, over the next few months.

Designed by the Diesel Creative Team, the two Mumbai stores exude their own distinctive identity and are not a replica of any other existing Diesel flagship in the world. They spread across 7,500 sq.ft. (the Juhu Tara Road store) and 2,600 sq.ft. (the one located inside the Palladium Mall in High Street Phoenix), and both stores will feature the complete Diesel lifestyle – including apparel, 5 pockets, footwear, intimate, timeframes, shades, fragrances and accessories as well as limited-edition products developed in collaboration with other brands.

Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week

Friday, April 2nd, 2010

Indian fashion designers are a hot rage in India and abroad and the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week showcased their unique designs and added the glamour quotient to the subject of Indian fashion. Some leading fashion designers of India showcased their creations and movie celebrities added a touch of glamour to the show. While some designs were definitely outrageous, others were more sublime and sexy.

The ramp was walked over as usual by hot models who sashayed down the ramp with attitude. Maybe a bit Westernized for Indian sensibilities, the show nevertheless tried to be a pompous affair being held in the national capital of Delhi. Army fashion designs were used by designer Ritu Beri while the sari was also showcased as the traditional yet sexy Indian dress. Actress Hema Malini walked the ramp with daughter Esha Deol and hot favourite Deepika Padukone looked stunning and gorgeous as ever. The show ran for five days and certainly offered a delightful spectacle of fashion creations and ramp effects.

Oris and Porsche

Saturday, March 21st, 2009

oris-ruf-ctr3picWhat do you get when you mate a stylish watch designer like Oris and an ultimate driving machine like Porsche! Well, you get an immaculate combination of style, substance and luxury, with a bucket of cool attitude thrown into the mix. The Oris designers have worked with RUF engineers to produce the limited edition Oris RUF CTR3 Chronograph; a watch created to truly evoke the sensibilities of one of the meanest cars on the roads.

The drool worthy dial itself conjures an effective imagery of the ultra-sophisticated dashboard in CTR3. There is the bewitching Super luminova numerals, and the distinctive RUF logo. The stainless steel pushers operate the chronograph and the crown is secured by the Oris Quick Lock Crown system.

It is highly unlikely that this watch could become freely available at every fancy store on the Indian high-street. All good things in life come in small numbers and that is especially true about luxury watches. The CTR3 is a limited edition watch; only 3000 pieces are being produced. But at least some of these beauties are going to be for sale in India.
Save your rupees because not all the best things in life are free.
