Punch Out

i_17631-copyHere is your chance to play as Little Mac, a 17-year-old boxer from the Bronx who is working his way up the professional boxing circuits. Before he makes it to the top, he has to face a series of colorful, fictional boxers. Little Mac is scrawny, but he is also die-hard and in most cases he is capable of performing quite well against the gargantuan monsters that he gets pitted against. Does this storyline rekindle a memory! It surely would, if you were acquainted with the original Punch Out game that was released in the 1980s and proved to be a great draw among gaming aficionados of that era. Little Mac’s familiar rivals like Glass Joe, King Hippo and trainer Doc Louis are back with him in the ring and they are clamoring for pulse-pounding action. As the Wii sensors are touch-sensitive, the players possess the unique capability of controlling Little Mac’s punches.

When you throw a punch using your Wii Remote and Nanchuk, Little Mac will be there on the screen, emulating your action. Some new boxers like Disco Kid, Giga Mac and Donkey Kong are making an appearance in this updated version of Punch Out. There are also boxers who have been borrowed from Super Punch-Out game. There is Aran Ryan, a crazed Irishman who is quite good at using his hefty head to attack rival boxers. Then there is Bear Hugger, the 400-pound Canadian who has a weakness for maple syrup and tiny woodland rodents. If anything, Punch Out turns out to be a great sequel to the original game of the 80s.
