When your favorite Sims move into the perfect apartment it is definitely
time to celebrate. Best thing about the game is that you get the chance
to decide what kind of apartment you want your Sims to live in - a spacious
loft, a cozy place for a young
couple, or a multi-bedroom
flat-share with friends. A whole
lot of fun, adventure and drama
are there to be experienced.
There is harmony and there is
comical conflict, there are good
vibes and there are bad ones,
there is the usual nitty-gritty of
interacting with other denizens
living in the apartment complex
and surrounding area.
Guiding the Sims in their local
explorations of the neighborhood is a joyful experience by itself. Get them to
mingle in coffee shops, visit a playground and meet new friends. Just as it
happens in real life, as the game progresses a plethora of new acquaintances
become part and parcel of your digital life. These acquaintances may include
artsy bohemians, sports fans, gadget-loving techies, and even delicious ladies. |

Tanks, jet fighters, submarines and battle stations, there
is so much fun to be had when you are playing a highoctane
game like Battalion Wars 2. A barrage of game
play firepower is always at your disposal enabling you to
fight it out on land, sea, or air. Making the right moves
at the right time is key to success and at every point of
time you have to pick and choose the tactics that will
lead to victory. There is danger everywhere and one
false move may lead to your destruction. In scenarios
where players are not actively commanding, they
hold the option to take direct control of any soldier or
vehicle in the field and leap into the fray.
The storyline of Battalion War 2 is awash with
complete paraphernalia of action and suspense.
Commander Pierce and Colonel Windsor of the Anglo Isles are tricked into
believing that the Solar Empire
is developing a devastating
super-weapon, and
they launch a preemptive
strike. On
the Western Frontier,
General Herman and
Brigadier Betty are on
garrison duty in the Solar
Empire when the
Anglos strike. They
decide to assist
Empress Lei-Qo and
Admiral A-Qira in
repelling the invaders.
As the conflict grows, all the nations of the world,
including the Tundran Territories, are again propelled
into an all-out conflict. This is
the point when it starts
to become clear that a
shadowy figure, Kaiser
Vlad of Xylvania, is pulling the
strings from afar.
This is a savage war in which there
are so many different vehicles, weapons
and battle stations to capture, that
players won’t be short of attention. |

It hardly matters if you are a US citizen
or not, you can still become a campaign
manager and lead a candidate of your
choice in the race for the White House.
All you got to do is get hold of The
Political Machine, an amazing game that
allows you to maneuver the enthralling
electoral zeitgeist of any Presidential
election. You begin by selecting a precreated
candidate, but if none of them
are up to your standard, then you can
opt for creating a candidate of your own.
Go ahead, play as Obama or McCain or
create a digital version of yourself.
The game is thoughtful and
contemporary and it does a good job
of tackling hot current issues. There
is an exciting degree of realism as
you will be required to even lie about
your stand on some controversial
issues like the Iraq war in order to
win voters in swing states. You go
through the exciting routine of raising
money, hiring spin doctors, winning
endorsements from important
groups, giving TV interviews, taking
out advertisements, fighting smear
merchants, and doing everything
else that anyone with presidential
ambitions is supposed to do. By
hook or crook, you have to ensure
that your candidate wins the 270
electoral votes necessary to bag
the presidency.
Your rival in the game is
controlled by other players like
yourself or by a diabolical Artificial
Intelligence capable of beating shrewd
operators like Dick Cheney and Bill
Clinton in their own game. Designed by
Stardock and published by Ubisoft, this
game is for PCs. |

There is a plethora of
faces breaking under
the onslaught of angry fists
in this game that returns to
the roots of arcade boxing.
The graphics are simply eye
popping and there is enough
room for irreverent fun
and impressive game play.
But the most interesting
feature of the game has
to be the fact that it gets
populated with a whole
host of interesting boxers,
each with his own unique
attributes and distinct
style. There is Romeo,
who is as good in throwing
punches as he is in making
pelvic thrusts. Those who
enjoy dirty fighting will find
an alter ego in over-sized
Molotov. Players also have
the option of uploading
the photo of their face and
creating a boxer in their
own likeness.
Facebreaker shows just
how much fun it can be to
pummel your opponent on
his face and then watching
with satisfaction as your
progress gets depicted
on the real time facial
deformation. Haymakers,
face shots and body blows
are just some of the
different kinds of punches
that you can throw, but
you have to wait for the
opportune moment before
throwing your best punch,
one that will distort your
adversaries face beyond
recognition and win the
game for you. It is even
possible for you to taunt
your adversaries by opting
to fight with one hand
behind your back. Created
by Electronic Arts the
game is meant to be played
on Playstation 3, XBOX 360
and the Nintendo Wii. |

Populated with comic-book superstars
that already enjoy a huge fan following,
everything about the game is superlative.
There is Hellboy, the hero of demonic heritage,
locked in a mortal combat with a big gang of wicked
baddies. The sound effects and graphics are simply
breathtaking. Don’t be surprised if the stunning display
of action makes you feel like the comic world has just
merged with the real
world and Hellboy’s
monstrous fist is the
best protection you
have.
The game’s plot is
intricate enough to
enthrall players of all
ages. The list of villains is really long. There is
the crazy Nazi scientist, Hermann Von Klempt,
who aims to dominate the world. To help him
achieve his nefarious aims he is being assisted
by acolytes like a seductive beauty with a heart of
evil, an amphibious merman, hundreds of crazed
cyborg apes, and thousands of demonic imps.
But in the end
all these villains
prove no match
for Hellboy’s
supernatural
powers.
Actors from
the Hellboy
movie - including
Ron Perlman,
Selma Blair,
and Doug Jones
- provide voiceovers. Developed by Krome studios
and published by Konami, Hellboy: Science of Evil
punches its way onto the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and
PSP platforms. |

If
you are a
horror and sci-fi aficionado
then this is one game that you don’t
want to miss. Set in the stark blackness
of a mysterious universe, Deep Space
is replete with situations that entail
ultimate psychological thrill and most
gruesome action. From the start the
atmosphere gets soaked with feelings of
tension, dread and deep terror. To play
this engrossing game, you have to step
into the boots
of Isaac
Clarke, who is on a seemingly routine
mission to repair the communications
systems aboard a deep space mining
ship. But in space even routine missions
have the potential to go horribly wrong.
Isaac wakes up to find that
the ship’s crew has been
ravaged by a vicious alien
influx. In order to survive,
he has to fight through the
dead silence and darkness
of deep space.
Besides its graphically
rich environment and
a murderous horde of
monsters, the game’s most
defining element lies in the
myriad innovative ways by
which it allows you to dispatch enemies.
There is no need to select your favorite
weapon and pour ammo into the limbwaving,
ceiling-scrambling alien life
forms. In order to stay alive you have
to turn tactical. Each alien life form
has its own particular weakness, and
there is always a special weapon that
can be most effective against it. There
are weapons that look like a cross
between a rifle and a pitchfork, then
there are guns that emit lasers from
a massive array of prongs, a plethora
of small missiles and much else. In
fact, there are a whole host of unique
weapons, each capable of inflicting
serious damage in its own way.
Published by Electronic Arts, Deep
Space is available for PC, XBOX 360 and
PS3. |

Fans of this game have already
labeled it as the game of the
year. About time you did yourself
a simple favor, and bought a copy of
Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots.
The game scores in almost every aspect
– it is embellished with next generation
graphics, dynamic lighting, fascinating
character development, and an endless
array of weapons with which you can
pulverize your enemies. There is a
chameleon like camouflage system and
the battle sequences are immaculately
choreographed. But the most outstanding
feature of the game has to be the fact that
it manages to convey one of the deepest
and most engrossing story lines that
you might ever
come across in
a video game.
Set in the year
2014, Metal Gear
Solid 4 portrays
a world where
restrictions in military intervention on
foreign soil has been eased, fueling the
need for private military companies to
fight proxy wars for business purposes.
An organization called Liquid Ocelot takes
advantage of the situation by creating an
army capable of defeating the strongest
armies of the world, including that of
USA. The world is in crisis and to remedy
the situation Old Snake gets recalled
from retirement and
deployed in the
Middle East. His job
is to annihilate Liquid
Ocelot using every
possible means and that includes a loyal
band of supporters, and a vast repertoire
of advanced weapons and gadgets.
The new form of camouflage called
Octocamo turns out to be an interesting
innovation. Using it Old Snake and forces
loyal to him can blend with any surface
within moments. Once the enemy in
Middle East has been neutralized, the
battle immediately moves on to other
parts of the world - South America,
Eastern Europe, Shadow Moses Island,
and Outer Haven. Fate of humanity hangs
in balance as Old Snake fights to defeat
the evil designs of the forces under the
command of Liquid Ocelot. Develped by
Kojima Productions, the game is
meant exclusively for Playstation
3. |

family that plays together stays together. That may sound
like a cliché, but the latest family fare from the ensemble of
Electronic Arts, does pack enough punch to keep every member
of the family playing for their quota of thrill and excitement.
This proverbial bundle of joy features six games including:
Battleship, Yahtzee, Boggle, Connect Four, Sorry! and the all
new, Sorry! Sliders.
It comes as an added bonus that the absolutely
likeable Mr. Potato Head hosts each game. Other
features include a customizable digital living room
in which to play. You can choose the setting of your

This is a game that will put
you into the nimble feet of
a young woman called Faith,
who works as courier of secret
messages. As Faith runs,
leaps, shimmies and tumbles
over an urban landscape, she
displays such
agility of motion
that you are
simply swept off
your feet. But it
is even more likely
that you may lose your heart
to this curvaceous beauty from
the digital world as you watch
her enact marvelous stunts.
So what is Faith running for? It
is the conservative regime that
is driving her to make a living
by diving, rolling, and balancing
across thin pipes hundreds of feet
above street level.
Faith’s parents were killed while
protesting against the government
and she was forced to grow up on
the streets. She operates in a dangerous
world where it is unthinkable to depend
on modern means of communication,
because the ruthless police state tries
to eavesdrop on every citizen. Her sister
is in the custody of the government and
as Faith runs across the city ferrying
messages for the criminal underworld
she looks for clues that will help her
find and rescue her sister. In her brave
enterprise a mysterious character named
Mercury acts as her only dependable
guide.

Lots of expectations get built
up from a game that
flaunts itself as a Mario Kart
wannabe. But the only thing
you can give Donkey Kong
credit for is that there
is never any shortage of
activities you can indulge
in. The modes you can opt
for include quick race, time
trial, challenge, and Grand
Prix modes. It is the
Grand Prix mode
that is most exciting
as it offers several
cup challenges over
multiple difficulty
levels. In the challenge
mode you have to take
on rather specific tasks,
like breaking a certain
number of objects in a race or coming in
ahead of a certain racer after a couple of
laps.
In Barrel Blast we have Donkey Kong
and his pals moving around on wacky
tracks. They are always moving forward
and the only way you can accelerate
them is by drumming the Wii Remote
and Nunchuk as
fast as you can
until you hit max speed.
Now the problem is that max speed
never feels fast enough, especially when
your expectations are really high. But
excitement comes from the fact that
on the way you can collect bananas
scattered along the track and when
you have collected enough number of
bananas you get rewarded with a speed
burst.
The game’s graphics may not be as
enthralling as that in many other games
on the block, but you can still derive some
enjoyment from it. Almost similar is the
case with animation - the characters do
not stand out, but they are funny and
lovable. The track movements are along
expected lines; only the audio fails to
keep up with the game’s tempo.

A frenetic style, a quick pace and a series of high-flying moves make it
seem as if you are actually in the ring wrestling for your life against
a fearsome foe. Of course, this is only a video game, but the bedlam
is so excitingly real. Wrestlers can jump up and try to crush their
opponents, they can fly and hit from the side with a resounding impact.
There is just so much of heated action going around that you hardly
have time to breathe. All you can do is keep playing your best game as
it skyrockets towards an adrenalin pumping high.
The artificial intelligence in TNA Impact
is advanced enough to allow you to choose
your wrestling style, customize your moves
and decide what kind of clothing you prefer
the ultimate champion to wear. But the
best aspect of the game lies in the fact
that it features some of the topmost TNA
superstars. If you have ever had the fantasy
to get into the ring with superstars like Kurt
Angle, Jeff Jarrett, Rhino, Samoa Joe, AJ
Styles, Sting, Christian Cage and Abyss then
this game is a dream come true. |

When you have an
obsession with speed
then you have no alternative except to
keep searching for every inch of space
on the track so that you can go faster
and faster. That is the kind of thrill that
Mario Kart packs amidst its classic
confusion and slapstick chaos. Intense,
addictive and powerfully exhilarating,
this game has all but perfected the art
of blending cartoon foolishness with a
viciously random cruel
streak. But beneath
the veil of bedlam there
lies a deep, precise, and
technically rewarding
racing game that you can
afford to play for hours without
even a whiff of ennui ever touching
you.
Like in most Mario games, in Mario
Kart players too enjoy the freedom to choose which Nintendo characters
they wish to race as. Best thing is
that you can even play as yourself.
Imagine the delight of racing in
an unpredictable cartoon world
as Mario, Luigi, Peach, Yoshi,
Donkey Kong, Wario, Bowser,
Toad, and a host of other
new faces including your
own! Pick up an avatar
and let the battle to win
Mushroom Kingdom’s
most prestigious racing
cup begin in earnest. Plenty of
power-ups and oodles of objects for
players to slow down other drivers only
add to the excitement. |

A stellar presentation and fantastic special effects make Mass Effect
one of the best galactic adventures in the market today. Definitely
the kind of game that will have players pining for more. It does not even
matter if you are a less experienced player or a longtime gamer, Mass Effect
deftly combines accessibility and challenge, all wrapped up in a package
that’s both deep and addictive. You play as Captain Shepard and your job is
to indulge in all kinds of nail biting adventures till you manage to save the
galaxy from imminent destruction.
The universe is full of a variety of colorful species; some of them are
good while others are highly malevolent. As the compelling storyline rushes
towards a rocking climax, Captain Shepard has to tackle the treacherous
enemies on whom he must unleash savage vengeance. But there are heroic
allies to help him accomplish his mission. The artificial intelligence in the
game is fairly advanced and all the decisions you make while playing as
Captain Shepard has strong bearing on the outcome of the game itself. If
you are playing as a female, then some characters will deliver a different
dialogue.
Audio is also excellent, thanks largely to the top-notch soundtrack
that incorporates voices from Hollywood actors such as Seth Green, Marina
Sirtis, Lance Henriksen and Keith David. If you are familiar with the seminal
game, BioWare’s Star Wars, then the action packed progression of Mass
Effect will probably seem quite familiar to you. |

mayhem. Simcity Societies Destinations

Always celebrated for its deadly
arsenal, in the 3rd installment of
Unreal Tournament the brutal
weaponry only gets bigger and
deadlier. The battle gets really savage as
players are equipped with weapons like a shock
rifle and a flak cannon that can be used to blow
and blast your enemy from a distance. The
graphics and the sound effects are so realistic
that you may actually start believing that you
are in the midst of a mortal combat. There
is a plethora of cool looking characters with
exchangeable armor, vests, boots, helmets
and weapons. The A.I. is capable of throwing in
unexpected challenges which vastly adds to the
suspense element.
But what is the
game's
story line?
Does that even
matter. Unreal
Tournament has
always been about
fast moving, run

of excitement. You
get to handle a

enemy vehicles
into smithereens. After all,
there is no dearth of alien
vehicles in the game that
you'll want to blow up. There
is a flying vehicle that looks
like a tentacle squid just
like the one in the film The
Matrix, and there is another
one that crawls on the
ground like a spider-octopus.

Unreal Tournament 3, is

Shuffleboard and Hoop Shoot, or relish the joys of
playing variations of classics like Skii Ball, Ping Cup, and

this is a great way to pre-party.
Playing darts with a Wii remote takes some practice,

Hoop Shoot is more fun when you have a little alcohol

same as Wii bowling, but you can’t afford to throw too
hard. The Shuffleboard is a tabletop version where you
have to control the direction of the puck. In Air Hockey
the controls are similar as in real air hockey, but for
maximum entertainment you have to play this game with
a partner. Ping Cup turns out to be really sporadic, but
that is part of its charm. Published by Midway, the game

As if on a magic carpet you get transported
into a world that lies below the shimmering
surface of the deep blue seas, where a wide
variety of marine life floats and frolics around you.
Every species is so enchanting and so majestic
that you may forget you’re only playing a game.
But within the realms of this underwater world
there also lies a treasure that you have to find in
order to win the game. Finding the treasure while
you are also indulging in different underwater
adventures should be lot of fun, because the
game also provides you with a sexy and bubbly
companion who goes by the name of Katherine
Sunday.
The range of marine life that you will encounter
within the game is really vast – from smaller fish
and penguins to massive whale sharks, from
manta rays to humpback whales. You don’t have
to fear these large creatures of the deep; they
pose no threat to players. The most entertaining
encounters will be with the dolphins and other
cetaceans that can be trained to perform certain
tricks and become companions when you are
indulging in activities such as general diving, cave
diving, deep-water trench exploration, wreck
diving. Basically the game is about vicariously
experiencing the underwater world.
Developed by Akira, Endless Ocean is meant to
be played on Nintendo Wii. Only the Wii remote is
needed to control the game, with the player using
an on-screen cursor to guide their diver. But if
you are using the Nintendo’s Wi-Fi connection,
then you can go diving with your friends. How cool
is that. |

If you are having delusions of being a ninja, then it is time to check
out just how fast your reflexes are. Ninja Reflex, the new
video game from the ensemble of Electronic Arts Inc.,
presents a very good way to hone up your reaction time.
The game consists of several competitive mini-games each
representing various activities associated with martial arts.
In one mini-game you may find yourself indulging in shurikenthrowing,
there might be another one where winning the game
means catching flies with chopsticks. In fact, the last game is
quite interesting. A stream of flies buzz into your screen and your
job is to grab them with your Wii remote, and deposit them in one
of three specific bowls. If you opt for a higher level of the game,
then catching of flies becomes even more intricate business. The
flies get tagged with specific colors, and you will lose points if you grab
and deposit flies that are not of your own color. Exciting, isn’t it!

| Super Smash Bros. Brawl brings together
all the fascinating characters from
Nintendo’s video game universe - Mario,
Samus, Bowser, Donkey Kong, Solid Snake,
Meta Knight, Kirby, Pikachu, Zero Suit Samus,
Link, Zelda, Pit and Wario, to name just a few. In
fact, almost everyone who is anyone in Nintendo
world is here brawling and fighting for their
digital empire. The way the myriad characters
come and go is totally unpredictable; it is as
if anyone can appear in any form and begin
displaying an erratic talent for brawling and
fighting. But the action happening in the game
is entirely customizable; you can control the
frequency of characters, the musical scores
and the pace of the game.
The storyline – well, you have to leave it to
Nintendo to come up with something that can
be classified as “truly out of the blue.” Here’s
how it goes – there is a digital world of Smash
Bros. that gets invaded by an entity called the
Ancient Minister and his army of creatures,
called The Primid. Now the characters on the
side of good have to fight back to protect their
freedom, but if any character gets defeated
they change into lifeless trophies. The devious
Ancient Minister has bombs that he detonates
to suck different characters out of the world so
that they turn into trophies whose power he can
harness. Only way to defeat this nemesis of the
digital space is to make all the characters work
together. Best thing about this game is that it is
Wi-Fi enabled, which allows up to four players
to brawl together. |

Mercenaries
2:
The game is based on a bloody state of affairs that isn’t
too unrealistic to imagine. A tyrant takes control of
Venezuela and starts messing with its oil supply. The result
is an international crisis of unimaginable proportions.
There is a bloody war and all of Venezuela is turned into
a scorching war zone. But you are a mercenary and it is
your job to profit from the chaos. To you the war means a
chance to win a lot of money and prestige as well.
The game features a slew of potential clients, all
willing to pay you gargantuan sums of money if you
agree to do their dirty work.
This is your kind of environment. Every major power
wants you on their side.
These are world powers
with deep pockets, deep grudges, and enough
arms and ammo to start World War III. Within the
game you are equipped with the latest and most
dangerous in civilian and military tech – from shiny
new sports cars, to the future-tech satellite-guided
bunker-busting mini-nukes. Tanks, armored vehicles,
boats, luxury automobiles – you name it, you can have it
delivered to you in real time. Even if you run out of cash,
the game makes it possible for you to acquire the gear you
need in the field.
There are some very interesting scenarios, where you can
hijack helicopters and planes using a new grappling hook.
A successful hijack on a helicopter will involve
grappling onto the chopper, pulling up to the door,
pulling the pilot into the door, smashing the door
onto him, throwing the pilot out of the helicopter
and getting inside; if a player misses, there is a
recovery button to avoid falling to your death. The
game even allows you to build a private military
company and recruit mercenaries in it. You can play
the game solo, but for maximum carnage invite your
friends to join you.

Ramayan 3392
Nothing compares to the satisfaction of playing a game that
allows you to decimate thousands of bad guys, empty a
million rounds of ammo, and in the process save a damsel
in distress. Sony Online Entertainment teams up with
Virgin Comics to bring a game called Ramayan 3392 AD.
The game is loosely based on a comic version of Ramayana
and is a result of a collaborative effort between the worldrenowned
spiritualist Deepak Chopra and Bollywood director
Shekhar Kapur.
Ramayan 3392 A.D. focuses on the battle between
humans and demons in a post-apocalyptic world.
The scenario
can be best expressed in the words – Ramayana goes
futuristic. Naturally there is Ram and there is a Ravana in
this comic. Ravana is portrayed in
the game as the master of a huge
army of Asuras (demons). Ravana’s
army marches all over the world,
invading kingdoms and poisoning
their lands with his vile
mechanoids. The fate of humanity
lies in Ayodhya, a gleaming city
with the finest warriors, where the
last vestige of human race remains.
But even Ayodhya has been polluted
to a degree by Ravana’s evil
machinations. There is a conspiracy
against the foremost warrior of
Ayodhya, Lord Rama, and he is
sent on an exile. In the course of
his travels Rama discovers the true
meaning of his existence and he
decides to become a protector of
Earth. From that day he travels
across the world freeing different
countries from the despotic rule of
ruthless Ravana.
The game is a super MMO, which means it is a Massive
Multiplayer Online. There are many rounds of fight before
Ravana can be defeated and Sita can be rescued from his
clutches. Ramayan 3392 A.D offers gamers a chance to
experience a whole new universe of characters and archetypes
derived from one of the oldest cultures on Earth.
Unmatched fighting scenes combined with Indian mythology
will give you hours of spine-tingling entertainment.
