Mercedes Vision GLK Blue Tech Hybrid |

Once it gets launched in the market
later this year, the Vision GLK
could turn out to be the ultimate
eco-friendly car. An innovative
maing of a BLUETEC four-cylinder
diesel engine with a hybrid module
generates nearly 40 mpg of raw
power, which can help accelerate the vehicle
from 0 to 100 kmh in a mere 7.3 seconds. The
fuel economy is so good that the car manages to
meet the most stringent emission norms like the
American BIN5 and European EU6 standards.
Along with being easy on the environment,
the Vision GLK is eye catching too. Crisp lines and
large taut body surfaces come together with the
bodyshell characteristics of practical off-roaders.
A steep windscreen and tight roof contours only
add to the car’s appeal. Multi-spoke 20-inch light
alloy wheels and muscular wheel arches impart an
aura of power. Then there is the “alubeam blue”
paint finish that contributes immensely in further
underlying the sporty aspects of this car.
The Vision GLK’s interior is a testament to
the modern interpretation of surface styling.
High-end materials and precise finishing lead to
the creation of a cocoon of luxury for the car’s
driver and passengers. But the dominant feature
has to be the dashboard, which visually extends
into the door panels, lending additional width to
the generously spacious interior. This car is an
example of how outstanding performance can be
paired with minimum fuel consumption. |
