Wheels Nissan Pivo

Nissan Pivo

Go green in style. That is what Nissan Pivo promises to do for you. Being a non-polluting compact vehicle, it allows you to pamper your green instincts and as you contribute your mite towards saving the environment, you make an eye catching fashion statement as well. The Pivo’s capability to run on a high-performance lithium-ion battery is not the only technological breakthrough that sets it apart. This concept car comes with a unique revolving cabin, a compact body that is very easy to maneuver, multiple drive-by-wire systems that make driving a breeze and an excellent visibility enhanced by Nissan’s Around View technology.

Despite its overall length of just 2,700 mm, the Pivo is meant to seat three passengers comfortably. The driver’s seat is in the front and center, while two passengers sit side-by-side in the rear. Tall, electrically-powered sliding doors make it easy to get in and out without hitting your head. The car’s exterior features deep oval recesses covered with soft materials in both front and rear – these provide comfortable spots to sit outside when Pivo is parked. Naturally the interior sitting arrangements are even more comfortable. The driver and passenger seats are aesthetically furnished in a soft, organically designed environment that extends from the center of the revolving egg-shaped cabin.

When it comes to parking - that is a breeze. With a Pivo you don’t reverse, you just revolve the cabin 360 degrees and drive with your head straight at all times. By eliminating the need for mechanical links between cabin and chassis, designers were able to create the unique pivoting passenger compartment. A dash-mounted infrared (IR) commander allows the driver to operate the navigation and stereo systems with simple finger movements without letting go of the steering wheel. This is done through an innovative human-machine interface (HMI) that uses an infrared camera in conjunction with Nissan’s “Magic 4” concept.
