The 599cc Thundercat stands and rides
with an aggressive posture that clearly
makes it fall in the category of an alpha
macho sports bike. It is comfortable
to ride and it looks and sounds great.
In other words, this is the kind of bike
that you need to take care of all your transportation
needs. Powered by an inline 4 cylinder engine and
90 bhp (67 kW) the bike is best suited not just for
long rides across windy highways, but also for inner
city travel. Even though it weighs a hefty 417 lb
(189 kg), it is still capable of scorching the tarmac
at 150 mph (240 km/h) and of extreme cornering.
The large one piece seat is ergonomically shaped
to let you ride for longer periods without being
plagued by pain in your back or neck. The frame,
made out of steel, makes the bike rather sturdy.
Suspension is fully adjustable and for braking
there is the state-of-the-art Sumitomo One that
is extremely effective, whether on racetracks or
on ordinary roads. If you really want to go in for a
proverbial ‘All-Rounder’ then this Yamaha YZF-R6
Thundercat is very much it. Comfy, fast, reliable,
economical and really nice looking, we’re getting
goose bumps just thinking about it. |
